The city of Miami is rich with diverse cultures, people, and tradition! Anywhere you go, you will find communities, events, and architecture indigenous to the region. Whether dining on international cuisine, shopping to your heart’s content, visiting world famous attractions, lounging on the beach, or “livin’ la vida loca” is your idea of fun — you will find it all right here in Miami!

Miami is a tremendous fusion of international flavor. Citizens of all different nationalities are represented throughout our community. To celebrate our rich diversity, the City of Miami hosts year-round festivals and events such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Festival, African-American Heritage Festival, Haitian Heritage Week, Viva Mexico Celebration, Israel Independence Celebration, Asian Cultural Week, and Miami Carnival Multicultural Celebration. In addition to these festivals, due to the large Hispanic population, Miami is host to many international festivals celebrating the many Latin American cultures and people living in the region.

The city of Miami is also a national sports market, with representation in all major professional organizations. Miami is home to the Miami Heat and Miami Sol NBA and WNBA basketball teams, the Miami Dolphins NFL football team, and Florida Marlins MLB baseball team. The Florida Panthers NHL hockey team plays its home games about 30 minutes north of Miami at the National Car Rental Center. Miami is also the birthplace of American Jai-Alai. Jai-Alai means “Merry Festival” in the Spanish Basque language and is rightfully called, “the world’s fastest game.”

Take your time and explore all that Miami has to offer! Hit the sandy beaches; dine on international cuisine, and dance the night away at our local clubs. Tour the historical Art Deco District, Coral Gables, or Key Biscayne, and see killer whales, aquatic sea life, and giant alligators right in your own backyard. A short trip right outside the city will take you to the Florida Keys, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, or the Bahamas.

…So, what are you waiting for? Get out and enjoy!
