The Art Deco District
Take Interstate 95 south to the Interstate 395 exit. Take I-395 east and go across Biscayne Bay until it turns into Fifth Street. Take Fifth Street until it intersects with Ocean Drive.
The Art Deco District is an 18-block area of art deco architecture and is a tropical delight of pastel colors and classic lines. This historical district’s renovation and protection has been one of the major contributors to the tourist population in Miami and is the home of the world renowned South Beach (SoBe), which is the southwestern tip of Miami Beach.

The Holocaust Memorial
1933-1945 Meridian Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida 33139
The Holocaust Memorial was created through the efforts of Miami Beach’s holocaust survivors and funded by a private, non-profit organization. The Memorial was dedicated on February 4, 1990, to the six million victims of the Holocaust, and its grounds include 11 areas which pay tribute to the culture, strength, struggle, and understanding of the large Jewish population in the Miami area.

Little Havana
Little Havana occupies 10 square blocks, centered on ‘Calle Ocho’ (8th Street), southwest of downtown Miami.
Little Havana is not really a tourist attraction, but a section of town which Cuban exiles have called home. Spanish is the predominant language spoken, and ‘Calle Ocho’ is lined with Cuban shops, cafés, and businesses.

Key Biscayne
This area is located south of downtown Miami along Biscayne Bay’s shoreline. Key Biscayne has numerous museums, exhibits, and recreation amenities.

Miami Museum of Science & Space Transit Planetarium: This area is near the entrance to the Rickenbacker Causeway, the bridge that connects Miami with Key Biscayne, the Science Museum has excellent displays of the Everglades and Florida's coral reef, with plenty of hands-on and interactive exhibits.

Miami Seaquarium: See Lolita, the 7,000-pound (3,150-kg) killer whale, and hear experts explain Miami’s aquatic life. Many of the exhibits are educational as well as entertaining.
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area: At the southern end of Key Biscayne, offers acres of exotic plants and nature trails bordered by white-sand beaches.

Miami Metro Zoo

Miami Metro Zoo has over 250 species represented, including over 800 reptiles, birds, and mammals. Daily Presentations include a wildlife show, and ecology theater at the Children's Zoo. Walking tours, tram tours, and a zoofari monorail is available daily at the zoo.

Miami Art Museum

Dedicated to the visual arts, the Miami Art Museum was founded in 1996 after evolving from the Center for Fine Arts. The Miami Art Museum offers tours in both Spanish and English.

Museum of Contemporary Art

This 23,000 square state-of-the-art building was opened to the public in February 1996. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect, Charles Gwathmey, MOCA is known for its provocative and innovative exhibitions by both, emerging and established artists.

The Florida Keys
The Florida Keys are located just 30 minutes southwest of Miami. The Keys, including such hot spots as Key Largo and Islamorada, are the place to be if you enjoy water sports. Rent a boat, jet ski, or take a glass-bottom tour around the area. There are also plenty of restaurants serving the freshest seafood around.

The Everglades

Discover the mysteries of the Everglades at South Florida’s oldest alligator farm. Located just southwest of Miami, the Everglades Alligator Farm offers airboat tours, shows, and thousands of alligators up close!

‘Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki’ Seminole Tribe of Florida Museum
This museum is located on the Big Cypress Reservation — Take I-75 to Exit 14, then head 17 miles north.
Visit the nation’s largest display of the life and culture of the Florida Seminole American Indian Tribe. See lifelike displays and rare artifacts from history and visit the Legends Theater featuring traditional beliefs and legends of the Seminole Indians.

Coral Gables
Coral Gables is full of fine art galleries and beautiful landscape. It is also known as the Fine Dining Capital of South Florida and has the highest concentration of live theater in Miami-Dade County. Stroll along the tree-lined street enjoying the shade as you view the historical architecture and landmarks throughout this beautiful town.

Performing Arts Center of Greater Miami — Coming Soon in Fall 2004!
This mega-center is strategically located in the Omni-Venetia area on Biscayne Boulevard, just a few blocks from Miami International University of Art & Design.
This new $244 million facility includes a 2,200-seat concert hall, 2,400-seat ballet/opera house, a 250-seat studio theater, orchestra space, rehearsal rooms, green rooms, food service, and administrative offices. The entire complex will encompass 450,000 square feet and will be home to the New World Symphony, the Concert Association of Florida, the Florida Grand Opera, the Miami City Ballet, and the Florida Philharmonic and will bring added arts, culture, and activity to the area.
